#IWTTW October 2017
We had a fantastic response to our first Teacher Taster Weekend which took place on 1st/2nd April 2017.
It was a brilliant two days in glorious sunshine visiting and trying out venues such as Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, The Model Village, Godshill, Dinosaur Isle, Goodleaf Tree Climbing, Blackgang Chine, IW Steam Railway and Osborne House.
Feedback received from everyone involved has been incredible ... so much so that we're ALREADY planning our next TTW for October 2017!
The Isle of Wight is THE foremost destination for educational school trips!
Education Destination provides bespoke curriculum-relevant visits to the Island supported by over 650 resources and activities designed by local teachers.
Pick and choose the bits that you need to make up your perfect Isle of Wight school trip - accommodation, transport, activities, paperwork - whatever you need, Education Destination can help.
We are running a FREE taster weekend on 7th/8th October 2017 to allow teachers to experience The Island Classroom for themselves, and learn more about what we have to offer!
This whistle-stop 2 day tour will take in many of the Island's favourite educational visitor attractions.
So, what's in it for us? We hope you will see the value in a future educational visit to the Isle of Wight. It may not be for some time, as we know these things can take a while to arrange, but when you do decide to come back with your class we hope you will let Education Destination take care of the arrangements for you. There won't be any hard sell, and you are under no obligation whatsoever. Because that's how we roll!

The Weekend's Itinerary
Saturday 7th October
All aboard the floating classroom!
Join us on the 09:00 Red Funnel sailing from Southampton for breakfast, a brief introduction to Education Destination and the opportunity to meet and greet your travelling companions. See first hand how Southampton Water and The Solent make such great Human & Physical Geography teaching resources whilst tucking into a yummy roll.
Meet 100+ cute creatures at Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary!
Home to dozens of abandoned donkeys, horses, ponies and many more animals, the sanctuary is the perfect place to undertake hands-on learning led by experienced instructors. From KS1 Maths and R.E. to KS3 P.S.H.E. and English, the sanctuary offers an incredible range of learning opportunities. Meet the farm manager for a guided tour, and walk or groom some of the animals in order to demonstrate some of the unforgettable on-site activities available for your students.
Farmyard Fun at Tapnell!
Visit the Island's newest all weather visitor attraction and see how easy it would be for students of all ages to have endless fun whilst learning by stealth at the same time! From giant bouncing pillows to pedal kart race tracks, petting zoo to dressing-up areas, Tapnell is a whole day's farm-themed fun. Walk with wallabies and meet the meerkats as you explore the park and barns.
Prehistoric fun at Dinosaur Expeditions!
Visit the Dinosaur Farm which is adjacent to fields and cliffs where some of the UK's most impressive fossil finds have been discovered, and literally walk in the footsteps of dinosaurs down on the nearby beaches.
Get up close and personal with The Needles!
Visit the world-famous Alum Bay with its coloured vertical rock strata before hopping aboard the Ramblin' Rose for a guided tour of the impressive white stacks! Then take a gently cruise along the western Solent to the gorgeous harbour town of Yarmouth.!
You will be staying the night at UKSA - the UK Sailing Academy - in yachties' favourite, Cowes, one of our most popular student accommodation providers. After settling in and having a bite to eat, you are invited to meet many of the educational visitor attractions that we couldn't cram into the itinerary at our mini Trade Fair event on Saturday evening over a glass of wine.
Sunday 8th October
After breakfast, hop onto the Jenny Boat for a tour of the impressive watersports facilities offered at UKSA.
