Students study the conventions of article writing and then produce their own article based on their Robin Hill experience.
This is a post-visit English writing resource that engages students with their visit to Robin Hill Country Park.
The resource task enables them to practise their journalistic skills. Students are asked to identify literary features in a similar text and then to write to persuade in an engaging way, using their experiences at Robin Hill as their stimulus material.
Students could study sample articles that feature Island attractions to understand key features and conventions. „ The task could be discussed in class prior to the trip so students are bearing this in mind when on their visit, focusing on their creative responses during their experience at Robin Hill. „ During the visit students could make notes on what they see with particular reference to how the different areas may be described in a positive way..
