Students are asked to create a board game with a set of instructions, using their experiences at Blackgang Chine as their stimulus material.
This is a follow-up resource to be completed in the classroom post- visit. This task can be introduced before the visit to Blackgang Chine Theme Park so that students are aware of the need to focus on their experience and can form ideas for possible creative responses.
The tasks can be integrated into lessons at any stage throughout the academic year as a revision tool or for fun writing practice. It is anticipated that students will have an enriched experience as they will be reflecting on their school visit activities in a creative way, and this will reinforce how English, and writing in particular, can be a valuable expressive tool, particularly in writing instructions and communicating with others.

Working through a process from plan to finished product
The task could be discussed in class prior to the trip so students are bearing this in mind when on their visit, focusing on the imaginative possibilities during their visit to Blackgang Chine.
During the Visit
Students may take pictures or notes on their favourite areas of the park.
Completion of the English resource task linked to this document
Students will demonstrate their thinking, management and writing skills. They will demonstrate evidence of planning, creative thinking and time management. Students show that they can make informed language choices to produce clear instructions.
