Students investigate all aspects of the coastal environment at and around the venue, how it has changed over time and continues to change, and its socio-economical impact. Students address key areas for investigation, i.e. processes and factors responsible for coastal landforms; protection possibilities; uses for coastal areas i.e. as a valuable economic resource; management of coastal areas such as Blackgang, etc. Students can practise investigative skills such as: fieldwork skills, analysis of images and statistics, etc.
This information resource is for key stage 5 students who are studying GCE Geography with any exam board, and have to undertake an investigation into changing physical environments, such as coastal areas (for some exam boards i.e. AQA & OCR, this relates more specifically to AS level tasks).
The resource briefly outlines the various opportunities for students of GCE Geography at Blackgang Chine.
By prior arrangement, students are able to visit the park to study and investigate all aspects of the coastal environment at and around the venue, how it has changed over time and continues to change, and its socio-economical impact.
