Students have to create a poster, timeline and presentation work using various sources and activities available (teachers can choose which they'd like to use)
Students are asked to work collaboratively to create a poster outlining the key history aspects of Blackgang Chine and its development, using their information gained at Blackgang Chine and the resource documents as their stimulus material.
This is a follow-up resource to be completed in the classroom post- visit. This task can be introduced before the visit to Blackgang Chine Theme Park so students are aware of the need to focus on historical aspects they may see, in order to form ideas for their response.
The tasks can be integrated into lessons at any stage. Students will produce an informative poster that gives information about the history of the park but also explains what they did there, and enjoyed.
Students break down the task into parts, decide who is going to do what, use resources (or further research on-line) to get the information they need, then produce the poster. They could use I.T. if appropriate.

The task could be introduced in class prior to the trip so the pupils give some thought to what information they will need to look out for during the visit.
During the Visit
Students may take pictures or notes, or ask questions at the park.
After the visit they will give more serious study to the history and be able to use knowledge gained on the visit to place the sources into historic context. Completion of the History resource task linked to this document.
Students will retrieve historical information from a variety of sources. They will demonstrate evidence of planning, collaborative group working and time management. Students show that they can collate evidence to produce an historical representation of the Blackgang Chine timeline and features (their historical poster).
