"Have you ever seen a model village inside a model village? Come to Godshill for many more magical miniatures!"
Absorb the slower pace of life in the early 1900s, leaving the hustle and bustle of modern day outside the gate. Keep your eyes open for little Islanders at work and play!
Godshill Model Village is a 1/10th scale version of the village of Godshill and Shanklin Old Village a couple of miles away, both two of the oldest tourist areas on the Isle of Wight.
The houses are fantastic replicas of the real buildings, made with similar materials so they weather "correctly" as they age. They are thatched using authentic materials and methods.
Possibly the most detailed landscape on the Island with over 3,000 ornamental conifers and shrubs, mostly bonsai managed to maintain their scale with the buildings. They make ideal subject matter for younger students learning about tree identification and this is backed by one of our more popular teaching resources for this venue.
Why not take the time to explore Godshill village itself whilst you are here? There's a beautiful Norman church, All Saints, with a William Morris stained glass window. The village itself is full of quaint shops and smaller tourist attractions.
